ABOUT ME
I am passionate about storytelling, its influence on people and how it affects our understanding of history. Trying to find why my grandfather became a politician under Mussolini, I dove headfirst into research and discovered little-known historical facts about WWI. Escapes, uncovers the important role Italy played in bringing WWI to an end and how its aftermath on Italians led to the Italian-German alliance in World War II. The revelations will surprise and intrigue readers as they follow the impact both world wars had on the lives of Italians and my own family while uncovering and preserving facts too often overlooked in mainstream historical records.

War stories are common, but few reach the reader at such a personal level as this story. Perhaps it is because it is based on real characters
and real memories of a not so long ago time and place. Personally, my knowledge of the WWI Italian campaign, and more specifically the "resistance" activities all thru the country has been lacking. This novel provides a back ground and impetus to learn more.
Well written, gripping at times, characters as real as if you had met them yesterday, this is no common war tale. Indeed, the desire to read more on this topic has been awakened, and we can hope this author will delight us with an even more developed view of those brave souls who lived the dark days of Mussolini and the alliance with Hitler.
More, please Mr. DiMartino !!!
